my outlook keeps locking up, I can't get to the "repair & detect"

I can open outlook, and I can open the first message in my inbox. Once it's
opened, I can't do anything to it- open attachment, close it, reply, etc....
I've tried going to the help tab, and doing "detact and repair" but it locks
up before I can get through it.

Any help?
 
You can run the Detect and Repair from any installed Office program, such as
Word, Excel, etc. Try that and see if it fixes your Outlook issue -- if not,
post back.
