My Outlook data does not appear, can it be retreived and how

I installed a few new Sw packages which I did not expect to have any
impact or relation to Outlook.
When I accessed Outlook it wanted to reinstall itself and all my data
had disappeared.

Does Outlook store it somewhere from where I may be able to
restore it
What would be the prodcedure
I do have most of dat on my Windows mobile Pc device but it does
synchronize any longer .

Do you still have a PST file on the machine? Look in all your folders
especially hidden ones.

I much appreciate your fast response which put me in the right direction and
I now
have the Outlook populated with my original Contact Info.
I am a previous Palm user and I am still new to Outlook, finding it a bit
difficult
to control and unpredictable.
