Hey all.

I've just installed a new AMD XP3200 chip and tried to get my new Copper
Lite fan to work with it and it spun up and everything but the PC didn't
boot. So I put my old fan in there and it worked fine, I looked at the
instructions and noticed that the new fan mentions that to get my MB to boot
I may need to disable the CPU RPM in the BIOS. However, the option in the
BIOS is greyed out and I can't change it.

Can anyone help me with my little problem?

Thanks all

Most cooling fans for the CPU have 3 pins..2 power pins and the 3rd being an
RPM sensor. If your fan only has 2 power pins and no RPM sensor pin the
system will think you do not have a fan installed and refuse to start so
that you do not burn out your CPU.
You can turn off the monitoring of the RPM of this fan in the
BIOS.........not a good thing to do ...but your system would then start.Do a
more detailed search in your BIOS and look for the section that monitors and
displays the Temps/RPM of fans as well as the Voltages on various lines.
