To answer questions that people gave to me:

FedX and Newegg get a thumbs up! Very good service.

Halo - You guys were right, good single player game, but chokes and gags
when FSAA and filtering is turned on. I sure hope this isn't a taste of what
DirectX9 is about.

UT2004 Demo - I lost some hair playing this one!

Chimp Demo - The Chimp demo with everything cranked up was really cool. You
have to see it to believe it.

Kingpin is outta site for an oldie. Filtering doesn't seem to effect it, but
the FSAA sure does! Half Life running great too and others which I won't get
into. I got friends that got some new stuff so were going to see tonight who
cry's uncle first, the 9800 Pro or us.

One last annoyance, can you have profiles with the Omega or ATI drivers?
What I mean is, have different sets of settings that are easy to access
without having to enter the drivers every time. Nvidia had this little
utility you could easily right click and access different profiles without
climbing into the driver settings to get to the profile. If not, no biggie.
Thanks!

Glad to hear that things are going great! Told you Chimp was cool! I use a
little program called Atuner. It works great. It's super simple and gets the
job done.
I might have to load up King Pin just to see what it looks like with the
9800Pro. The game looked very cool back in the day. JLC

Halo does its own filtering, you shouldn't run it with FSAA. It isn't
at all representative of DX9.

That was me? I sometimes go into HALO servers to lets folks know
about UT2004... Some are cool about it "is it good?" some are pricks
"Halo is the best, nothing touches it" - without even trying it out.

HALO is actually a DX8 game, it looks a little better on my ATI9800
over the Ti4200 I have. Look at UT2004, Halo doesn't have 1/4 the
detail or 10x the feature set of UT2004. So for online gaming, Halo
truely BLOWS... Come on, 3-4 good maps out of the whole game?
UT2004 Demo - I lost some hair playing this one!

Hope you mean that in a good way! (They need to tweak some things
still) I have 2 PCs networked - So I've done a guy on the sniper
tower while controlling the Raptor (Jet) and the effect is VERY COOL -
looks very much like a SCI FI move the way the Raptor moves and comes
over the edge and its head lights even work a bit. In HALO, the
purple stupid alien Banshee (jet) is more of a 3rd axis moving
object... The Raptor banks, shifts and spins very jet like... it
looks soo good. In HALO, you got SISSY POW and it falls out of the
sky. No gibs. No flaming wreckage. Also, keeps the enemy players
from Keeping the VECS to themselves.
Chimp Demo - The Chimp demo with everything cranked up was really cool. You

Try out the DAWN demo, that requires a wrapper and such:

And you can remove her leaves.

Look up "radlinker", Omega drivers come with it already installed. With ATI
drivers you have to install it seperately.

you might want to try dna drivers. you still have to use control panel or
task bar applet to change settings, but I have had real good luck with them

Check this free program out called Radlinker. It allows you to assign
independant settings for each shortcut. (FSAA ANIO overclock textures
etc) Works like a charm for me.

Did you know you can change to 1st person mode while in the Raptor and
other vehicles ?? Just hit F4 and bingo.

That did the trick! I like that better than profiles. A rocky start with
this card but this is getting better and better.

If I recall right, back in the day when 3Dfx was still alive and the TNT was
re-branded the Geforce, I think Halo was written to show off the T & L of
the Geforce 2? I have a review in the now disbanded boot? magazine of some
of the early work on Halo.

Or simple rotate your mouse wheel...

Hitting F4 also works for FOOT mode.
