How would I go about removing or hiding the My Network
Places icon? And to eliminate it off of the desktop
toolbar?

Thanks, John

Run > gpedit.msc > Local Computer Policy >
User Configuration > Administrative Templates >
Windows Components > Desktop > Hide My Network Places icon
on Desktop > Enabled > OK

This policy only affects the desktop icon. It does not
prevent users from connecting to the network or browsing
for shared computers on the network.
