Dear all,
Dear All,

My computer is too slow when I transfer file from it to
other computer in my LAN and vice versa
I use Windows XP + SP 1a. It just happened to me one week
ago.
I am sure that the Network card, the network point and
Network cable are ok.

Any helps would be appreciating

thanks
Warm regard,
Krisna

What protocols are you running to share files.

Check the network card settings on each PC and make sure they are running in
Full Duplex

What is the network card, hub/switch you are using?

Transfering a file accross over a LAN will temporarly eat
up some ram, but does it speed back up after? And how
much are you copying accross over what speed of
hub/router/switch?

I too am having a similar problem with slow file
transfers, coming from a windows xp system connected to a
server 2000 machine, a switch and a router are connected
along with 3 other machines, 2 other xp machines and a
windows 2000 machine, only the one xp machine is slow,
changed cables, tried new network card, copied settings
from the other machines, everything, still speed is not
even close 3min vs. 30min for file transfers from the
other systems on the same network. network card is set
for auto detect on a 10/100 network. Could it be
something with a security update, or something like that?
