Hello Everyone,
My mother was showing me a slide show of family pictures from a cd (not sure
what the program was called, and my mom didn't know either). Anyhow, she
opened the cd-rom bay while the slide show was still running. All of a
sudden, the blue screen of death comes up followed by (after I got rid of
the screen by hitting esc) a couple of error messages saying that the
program caused some sort of error in some *.dll file. Sorry I can't be more
specific about that, but I didn't think it was a big deal, so I didn't pay
attention. Anyhow, now the cd-rom doesn't recognize any cd I put in it.
Here's the stats on the computer
OS: Windows ME
CD-ROM: Lite-On LTN483S 48x Max
Make/Model: Dell Dimension L800r
If I go into the control panel and look at system and then device manager,
it tells me that cd-rom is functioning properly, but it is lying out it's
ass, 'cause the damn thing don't work!
oh, and i've rebooted the system a couple of times.
thanks for any help.
