My moden will not work

I just installed xp upgrading from 98. now my modem will
not work at all. i have tried everything i can think of.
if anyone can help that would be great.

Please see link three in my signature to learn how to post to newsgroups
properly and effectively. "I have tried everything I can think of" - we are
not psychic (despite what some might believe) so, unless you actually *tell*
us what you have tried, we're going to waste an awful lot of time - us
making a suggestion and you saying "but I've already tried that!". So to
save this turning into a game of 20 questions, please elaborate.
 
Go Start -Control Panel- System - Hardware tab - Device Manager, open modem
+sign, right click the modem, select properties, select general tab, read
what's there and troubleshoot if need be.Hope this helps

Have you updated your modem driver to one specifically indicated for
XP? Check the manufacturer's website.
