My message replies won't post

I have responded to two posts in which other users responded to my posts.
Each time, the replies bounce. However, if I reply to myself, they come
back to me. Any ideas of how best to get my replies on the newsgroups?

Thanks.

Newsgroups use NNTP (network news transfer protocol) to submit and read
posts. Newsgroups are NOT e-mail. Email uses different protocols. You
will need to explicitly detail what you are really doing.

I think you should ask your question here:
microsoft.public.windows.live.mail.desktop

Hope this helps.

It appears from your headers you are using Windows Live Mail. If so, are
you clicking on Reply or Reply Group? If the former, that is the wrong
button to use (unless you intend to e-mail somebody who posted a valid
e-mail address, which is often not done so as to reduce incoming spam).
Use the Reply Group button!

I can't be sure, but it sure sounds like you are clicking on "Reply"
rather than "Reply Group."

"Reply" sends a personal reply by E-mail to the person you are
replying to. So presumably when you reply to yourself, you are
E-mailing it to yourself at (e-mail address removed), and if that's your
correct E-mail address, you will receive your own reply by E-mail.
However, most of us don't use our real E-mail address in newsgroups
(it's generally a bad idea, and subjects your address to being
harvested by spambots), so if you reply to someone, your message will
bounce from the fake address we use.

For example, if you "Reply" to *this* message you will attempt to send
an E-mail message to the invalid address
(e-mail address removed) and it will bounce.

The correct way to reply to a newsgroup message is by clicking "Reply
Group," not "Reply." That will send your message back to the newsgroup
where we can all read it.
