My links are appearing on their own lines...MSW to MSE

Hello,
I'm using MSW XP Pro with SP1. I've discovered how to link Excel Data to a
Word Doc. The doc is a Proposal to be sent to clients and the formatting
must be preserved. I made the links so I could auto populate the variables
of custom proposals based upon data entered and calc'd in Excel.

Problem is when I Copy, Paste (match destination formatting and Link to
Excel) the linked value is appearing on it's own line. If I try to correct
the formatting and place the link where I want it to be, mid-sentence for
instance, then it won't update through Edit, Links, Update Now. And when I
update via Ctrl+A, F9 then it updates and jumps back onto it's own line...

Any ideas?

TIA,
Angela

Hi there, have you considered doing as a mail merge with the Excel sheet as
the data source? The fields should then appear in the text exactly where you
want them.

Go to the Task Pane (View Menu if not visible) and choose Mail Merge from the
Drop Down at the top (defaults to Getting Started). Follow the steps from
there. Good luck

Thank you! This will work well for just about everything that I need to do.
