My letters on my PC look like symbols (i.e. squares, circles, periods). How do I fix it?

Any letter I type and any letter I view looks like a symbol. I can't read anything or type anything. The only thing unaffected is my internet, but all letters are in bold font. Help me please, it is a big problem for me.
