I don't know what happened, but for the last few days now my laptop won't play most of my songs, which i've downloaded. C.D.'s work just fine, but the majority of the songs i try to play won't play. I've tried using system restore to return my laptop to an earlier state, but even the system restore isn't working anymore. I've tried restoring to a dozen dates, all with no success. I have no clue what the problem may be. I'm hoping someone will shine a light on this problem and help me out. Thanks.

Well, You might have to reinstall windows. What version of windows do you have? Im assuming you have Windows XP Home or Pro. If you do this is the case where you have to reinstall Windows XP! That might be the only solution for ya. Reply back and ill help ya. Thanks!

Halo, I had the same trouble and I think its related to a recent upgrade for
the Media Player I downloaded to my computer after being prompted by
Microsoft. It looks like Microsoft is starting to move toward more "secure"
downloads in an order to protect property rights. I went in to Control
Panel/Install Remove Software and deleted the last upgrade for Media Player
and everything worked again. I briefly saw a fix on the Microsoft Help
website, but they said it was not well tested and that we should probably
wait until they sent another broadcast fix. Basically, it looks like they
are F-ing us around a little on this one.
