I have a problem. This past summer I installed the upgrade of Windows XP Home Edition, I upgraded from Windows ME. Everything seemed to go fine for a while when suddenly, my laptop began turning itself off. This isn't a restart, my laptop just completely turns off and doesn't come back on unless I turn it back on myself. It's totally random, it doesn't have a particular program or anything, and I never know after how many minutes or hours etc. it might do it. Does anybody have any insight on this problem? Your help will be greatly appreciated.

Check the energy settings. If you're using the laptop scheme in
Windows XP's power management applet, I think the default is 45
minutes before the laptop will power off, although it's different
depending on whether you're operating on AC or battery.

The power management applet is located in the control panel.
