My laptop keeps restarting itself, it boots, then asks me to choose a mode
for it to run it, and the only mode it works in is safe mode, every other one
just lets it boot, then it restarts itself all over again. ani ideas as to
what might be causing the problem and how i can solve it?. Please help

Since the machine will run in Safe Mode this sounds like a driver issue. Were any changes made to the
system right before this issue started? If so...that would be the place to start. To further narrow the
scope...first check to make sure that your machine isn't set to auto reboot after a blue screen. Do this by
right clicking My Computer, select Properties and then click on the Advanced tab. Under Advanced
\Startup and Recovery click Settings. Under the System Failure options make sure Automatically
restart is NOT checked. This will prevent the box from rebooting should you be getting a blue screen.
Next run MSCONFIG from the Start\Run box. This will allow you to a selective startup in order to narrow
down where the issue is occuring. Start by disabling all but the SYSTEM.INI file...then reboot. If the
machine runs ok without going into Safe Mode...run MSCONFIG and add the next file (WIN.INI) and
repeat until the machine fails. Once you determine where the problem is...you can continue to trouble
shoot by selecting the tab that corresponds to the failure file, and disable the startup items listed....add
these back in one at a time until the offending item is found.

Hope this is helpful
