my laptop and red crosses

Hi, I am trying to edit a move file on my laptop - the file will not load on
my laptop via my wireless network - I get red crosses in the timeline - error
message saying the file from my desktop is not move maker file.

That is because WMM doesn't know you are loading it through the network. It
is looking in the folders on your laptop for images that are on the desktop.
You could try right clicking the red X's and choosing "Browse for missing
file" then navigating the network to find the files but if you do that and
save the project then the next time you load it on your desktop you will
probably have the red X's there. Alternately you can copy all the files to
the exact same folders on your laptop that they are located in on the
desktop and that "should" work.
