i think you mispelled a couple of words which makes it hard to understand
what your question is,

but if you will have the external dns on your server, then you will have to
register your dns server on the internet for your your domain, once you do
that you can add the mx record to point to your server at home.

hi Gil

In order to use the Domain name that you purchased for your email. You will have to register a MX record that has your domain name and points it to the public IP that you are using at home. Then you need to configure a recpient policy in order to recieve mail from the Internet. That will be your primary SMTP address

It will take time to propogate the MX record (about 3 days or so

Once all the Main DNS servers see that record you will be able to recieve mail for your domain..

does this help you

hi,
Soory it is long, but it os very important for me.
I am doing a little lab on my home to built :
A.an exchange server that will pass and get email also from the internet.
B. a web site that will be hosted also on my home lab.
The Exchange server, the web server, and the DNS server will be on the same
server.
I already have a domain name that I brought from maddogdomains. (whice is
not hosted on my isp)
From what I understood for the exchange server I have few options:
1. To do the hosting on my home - then I define that the NS of my domain is
my ip address of my server. Then I define on my dns server that the MX
record is again my exchange server.
2. To do the hosting on my ISP.
3. To do the hosting in my home . then the primary dns will be my server.
the secondery will be the isp dns server. Like this the response for the
queries to my domain will be answered by the dns server of the isp.
Can anyone explain me whet is the best for me?
What is usually done ?
What are the adventages of the best selution for me ?

hi again,
Sorry but I did not understood you.
Please if someone can tell me how can I use the domain i already buy, so I
will be able to manage an exchange 2000 server that will be on my home
server.
What are the options I have ? what is the best ?
How can I configure the dns server that will be on my home also ?

thanks,
Gil.
