Hi,
I have Windows XP Home Edition Ver 2002 - SP2 and Internet Explorer 6.0
SP2. when I navigate to pages (example: http://help.sap.com) through the
hyperlinks, it doesn't show the contents. It opens a new window and the
status says 'Done' with no contents. It doesn't work only in my machine, it
works in other machines

From http://help.sap.com if you click the cursor to 'English' in
documentation it shows the address:
http://help.sap.com/saphelp_erp2005/helpdata/en/e1/8e51341a06084de10000009b38f83b/frameset.htm
but the page doesn't load.

I need this fixed quickly, please....help!!!!!

Thanks!

From http://www.fjsmjs.com/OE/nolinks.htm

1. Click Start, and then click Run.

2. In the Open box, type:

regsvr32 urlmon.dll

3. Click OK, and then click OK again when you receive the following message:

DllRegisterServer in urlmon.dll succeeded.

4. If that doesn't fix it, see this article:

http://inetexplorer.mvps.org/answers/26.html

5. If you are using WinXP try this:
http://www.mvps.org/sramesh2k/reg/IE_Default_Browser.reg

6. See Internet Explorer 6.0 Service Pack 1 may display a blank Web page
after you select Auto-Select encoding
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/870863

You can also try this:

Go to Start/run, and type SFC (msconfig for WinXP).
Choose 'Extract One File From Installation Disk' ("Expand File" for WinXP).
Type oleaut32.dll, not worrying about its location. Then, click Start.

Next to 'Restore From', type in or browse for the file's location, which is
probably in the Win98 (i386 for WinXP) folder of your installation CD-ROM
(typically D:\Win98), or in your Windows\Options\Cabs (Windows\i386 for
WinXP) folder, as the case may be.

Then, next to 'Save File In', enter C:\Windows\System (C:\Windows\System32
for WinXP), and click OK. System File Checker (or msconfig) looks for the
file, saves it as you requested, and then tells you that 'the file has been
successfully extracted'.

You may need to reboot.

Hi Frank,
Thank you for your post. I tried each of the suggestions, but it didn't
help. Still the problem didn't get fixed yet. I think the hyperlink doesn't
have the complete address, it appears to be truncated for some reason. Hope
this gives you some idea about what the problem is. Hope you will be able to
help me further.

Thank you!

If I go to http://help.sap.com there is no English button but the page is
already in English. What language is listed at the top in Tools | Internet
Options | Languages?
What language do you have in Control Panel | Regional Settings?

It loads in a new window. Perhaps you have a popup blocker interfering?

It opens a new window, but the page contents doesn't show. It's not a pop-up
blocker issue.
Thank you.

What does show? E.g. Alt-V,c should show you the source
for the frameset. What does F6 do?
What do you see in View Source for a frame?
(e.g. right-click, View Source or Menu key after F6 sets focus on one)

It's not a pop-up blocker issue.

Perhaps not. What other third-party programs do you have active
which could be interfering then?

Thank you.

Have you compared this with what you get when it's working normally?
There is a lot of unexpected duplication in here. E.g. count the number of
instance of the strings script and frame in each. Duplication is expected
in here because of the way this page is implemented but it's as if the script
was looping recursively somehow.

I think that this symptom is pointing to a problem with scripting,
so perform the usual repair actions for that, such as clearing the TIF
(you might even get different timing just by refreshing with Ctrl-F5),
re-registering the modules associated with scripting or, at an extreme,
reinstalling the scripting component. Frank often posts such tips.

Or, from the MS Support site's IE Solution Centre for topic "Script Errors"

http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=fh;EN-US;ie&sid=64

Good luck

Robert
