Currently running Windows XP SP2 and I don't want to re-install everything
because I don't have time to set up everything again...
It just stopped working a couple of weeks ago and cannot figure out how to
re-install IE6... I was running IE7 BETA2 at the time but uninstalling it did
nothing, I installed Netscape 8 and the IE engine on that still won't work.
I wasn't doing anything unusual when it happened and have run several scans
from several programs to try and find something but nothing, and firefox just
isn't good enough.

Any help would be appreciated.

How to Reinstall or Repair Internet Explorer and Outlook Express in Windows
XP (Q318378)

But, if you installed/uninstalled IE 7 **BETA**, you may be out of luck.
Installing beta software to fix a big problem with your current version of
anything is never a good idea.

From the IE 7 Beta release notes:
http://msdn.microsoft.com/ie/releasenotes/default.aspx
"OS Updates--Do not reinstall any version of Microsoft Windows in any way
after you install Internet Explorer 7. Do not upgrade in place or upgrade to
a new edition. The workaround is to remove Internet Explorer 7 Beta 2,
install operating system updates, and then reinstall Internet Explorer. "

You could also try posting this to the IE 7 Beta group, in case that has
screwed things up more:

Beta testers of IE7 Public Preview are asked to post their comments to
microsoft.public.internetexplorer.general newsgroup.

On the web:
http://www.microsoft.com/communitie...?dg=microsoft.public.internetexplorer.general

In your newsreader:
news://msnews.microsoft.com/microsoft.public.internetexplorer.general

Glad to hear your problem has been resolved. Thanks for the feedback - for
the benefit of others.
