No matter what URL I try, I get a
THE PAGE CANNOT BE DISPLAYED
message. In the text there is a link that says
DETECT NETWORK SETTINGS
but clicking it does nothing. The browser is set to ONLINE. I can't
even bring up the router login page. I tried every possible "use proxy,
dont use proxy, etc" with no change.
I'm running Windows 2000 on an athlon system. Everything else seems to
operate fine. Including NETSCAPE 7.2. I can browse anywhere with that,
no errors.
I went into ADD/REMOVE programs and removed everything I could find
related to IE, downloaded it from MS (with NETSCAPE) and re-installed
and rebooted. Same message.
I'm not running a firewall.
Grr!
