My icon in the taskbar area has diappeared

Can any one tell me how to put the window defender icon, back onto the taskbar?
I am running version 1.1.1593.0
Also, if there is no icon in the task bar does the programme still check my
computer automatically, or do I have to start it manually?

Hi Tiara

Scroll down in WD in the "option menu"
Put on "Always"
It is running always as a service, so no problem.

but I cannot find where the ALWAYS is, I am not very computer literate as

You almost got there. It's the last option under the real time options, so
you only need to scroll down a little bit.

Thank you for your reply also, it did get me there, I did not realize that
you could scroll even further down in that window. I am so happy that I
have found this site and that you are such nice people out there. I will
keep my eye on this site I could learn a lot I think by just reading some of
these other questions. Thank you once again for helping me.
