Please help. Everytime I open Internet Explorer, I am
taken to a strange Search Page that I have never visited
before. When I reset my homepage in the IE properties, it
seems to be overwritten again the next time I open IE.
The URL that first comes into my header is something like
tt/rac. etc, then it goes to the search page.

Can anyone offer a solution?

First eliminate any scumware.
See
Dealing with Unwanted Spyware, Parasites, Toolbars and Search Engines
http://mvps.org/winhelp2002/unwanted.htm

Note that AdAware and SpyBot S & D will each catch some things the other
won't. Also, each need to be updated before every use, even when just
downloaded. There's also a lot more to do than just those two programs.
Make sure CWShredder is among the things you try.
If trying everything at that site does not fix the problem please post back
in the same thread.
