i clicked the red (x) close button up top. then some

page i didnt want. please send me some information via
email on how to get rid of this problem

DC,

I would recommend downloading Spybot S&D and running a scan, removing any
spyware/adware that it finds.

Download some anti spyware software eg spybot or adaware and run it. It will
check for spy ware and can uninstall it for you. Don't let it delete
anything automatically because it can sometimes class some legitimate
software incorrectly.
When you've cleared your computer, install some popup stopper software to
prevent future popups. Google's freeware toolbar will do this for in
addition to giving you a direct link to its search engine.
If you ever get a similar popup to the one you got above, use the system
close box if it's available on the window, or Alt f4. Don't click anything
on the window itself.
