My history cleared itself...

See your Browser settings set for how long to keep your History, 10, 30 or
60 days?.
Did you installed any cleaner or run a disk clean up lately?.

It is set for 30 days. At one point I unplugged the laptop to take it
downstairs to the printer and when I did it immediately shut off, completely
with no warning. I had to restart the computer (luckily Word recovered what
I was working on). I haven't run any disk clean ups (as far as I know
anyway). I ran a McAffee scan after the fact and 27 different "items" where
found.
