WinXP home in my laptop (Compaq EVO n1015v) is always
active and when the notebook is in idle, (while doing
nothing) my HDD is reading/writing in 2 to 3 seconds
periods.

Is this a normal behaviour of XP?

Thanks

Hi Berrun,

If you have the 'Indexing' service on, that could be accessing your hard disk. If you have 'System Restore' turned on, it could
be accessing your disk. I would suggest going to Computer Management (under Administrative Tools) and look to see what services
are running. I would also look and see what 'Processes' you are running.
