After developing a great powerpoint and lots of graphics and text boxes, then
I save my document to either a flash drive (usb) or cd. When I pull up the
this document on my laptop, my graphics are gone. I could just scream.

My daughter brought a special powerpoint she made for her daughter's
graduation, many of her pictures were gone. If we removed the flash drive
and started over, then some pictures returned and others were gone.

My laptop is powerful. 2 gig ram- dual core, etc. I DON'T GET IT. PLEASE
SOMEONE HELP ME.

Did you also develop the presentation on your laptop?
In other words, might the laptop and not the CD/USB be the problem?

In any case, it's always best to work on presentations ONLY from your hard
drive, then when done, use Windows to copy the files off to the USB drive or use
your CD burning software to make a CD.

Always close the CD after burning / use the system tray gadget to safely remove
the USB flash drive; otherwise you're courting trouble.

To play the files, copy them back to the hard drive and play from there.

First of all, don't save directly to the flash drive. Save to your
harddrive, then copy the file to the flash drive.

Second, make sure you've installed the latest service packs for Office. I
know SP1 for Office 2003 fixed this "missing content" issue, and we're up to
at least SP2 now. So open PPT and go to Help | Check for Updates to install
the latest SP for Office.

Maybe there's something wrong with your PowerPoint, first update it to
kill known bugs. And then save to your harddisk to try not directly in
your flash drive.

Alternative you can save your presentation to other formats like Flash
to avoid these problems. Flash can retaion your effects and be easily
to share. Some presentation tool can do this for you:
Wondershare PPT2Flash: http://www.sameshow.com/powerpoint-to-flash.html
FlashSpring: http://www.falshspring.com
Articulate Presenter: http://www.articulete.com

I hope this methods can really help you :)
