Oh Well

My 13 yo grandson's computer is acting kinda strange and trying to call out. He has no AV or any anti-malware apps. What would be the best and quickest way to scan and clean his probably already infected computer.

thx

FORMAT c:
SETUP

Download one of the free anti-virus packages available on the internet.

"avg" and "avast" anti-virus spring to mind. There are also web based
scanners, but they may not want to fix all the problems until you pay.

I would go to http://www.trendmicro.com/pc-cillin/support/edisks.htm
and d/l the files to make Emergency Rescue Disks if the cpr uses
Windows 95/98.
Read the info.
It`s simple to make the disks when you run the file you d/led.
This is udated quite frequently.

I personaly use F-Prot for Windows. It has not let me down.
www.f-prot.com
It is updated several times a week, usually.

I would not format until the cpr is clean.
Reformatting is a good idea if you or he has the operating system to
reinstall.

F-Prot DOS is free and null@zilch has a routine to put in on several
floppies.
Look for his posts.
