My FrontPage 2003 doesn't play background music

I tried adding a wav and midi file to my web page under the page
properties/background sound section. When I preview my page, the audio
doesn't work. I tried the same audio in PowerPoint and Flash to make sure the
audio files was not bad, and it works fine in both programs. How can I fix
this problem. I tried changing the HTML code and file location, and this
doesn't work either.

Can you post a URL where we can see this behavior?

Ambiguity has a certain quality to it.

The sound file is not found at the location indicated in it's tag:

http://seawolf.sit.ecu.edu/courses/fall04/galbreathp/j00742771.mid

You must first import the file into your current open FP web / site before you use it in your web /
site and if publishing via FTP or FP Selective Publishing function, you must also upload the sound
file to the live/remote server along with the page.

I forgot to resend the sound file, but it doesn't play on my computer either.
I've place the html and the sound file in the same folder, but it's still not
reading the audio file.

Here is the test page that the background sound is attached to. I checked the
server I uplinked this file to, and the sound file is on the server too. It's
something else causing my music not to play.

I also noticed that when I attached the sound clip to this page, the
following message appeared in the display window "No document propertities
are available for this file".

I hear the sound perfectly from this page.

Sound like you don't have .mid file type associated with the media player associated with your
browser.

No, I have QuickTime associated with Firefox for midi files and they
play just fine at other sites, but I hear nothing at the site mentioned
in this thread.

And in Internet Explorer 6, midi files play in Windows Media Player.

Interesting, I have a similar prboblem.

MID files will not play in Firefox and on looking at the Firefox options,
MID files are not one of the associated file types for plugins. (I assume
the only plugins are QuickTime.) MID files play OK in IE , but it uses
RealPlayer.
