I am running win 2k pro... One day my toolbars disappeared
from my open folder (the explorer; web format.) I can
still get the folders to open as web view if I
specifically go to "explore." But, all of my folders use
to open in that format by default. I've tried going to
view, but the "web view" option is not there and nothing
in folder options seems to help either. Can someone,
please, help me open folders in "web view" by default,
again. Thanking you in advance.

If you are referencing Internet Explorer, there is another sight that can
help with those specific solutions to your question(s).

Use Newsgroups Subscriptions Window and type "inetexplorer"(w/o quotes). You
should find both Internet Explorer and Outlook Express issues there.

In Internet Explorer the toolbars and moveable when not locked. There is a
vertical line at tthe left end of each toobar to click on and move the
toolbar to the configuration you desire. Afterward to lock tehse toolbars,
Right click on the open space of the toolbar and click "locek toobars".

You also made reference that makes me think you are talking about "Windows
Explorer"(part of your OS). If it's this the your want your windows to open
the same, with Windows Explorer (like right click on the Start Button and
click Explore), to choose the type view you wish in the right pane go to the
Menu Bar, choose "View, and click on the Detail, or large icons, or etc.
When this is complete, if you want all of your windows to look like that,
then on the Menu Bar choose Tools > Folder Options > View tab > click the
"like Current Folder" button and close it by clicking OK.Close Windows
Explorer and try some other folders and see if this is what you wanted to
accomplish. To find things in the Help menu like the one we just did, for
example, Click Start Button > click Help > and type something like "view".
Sometimes you don't get it on the first try, but, well it would be faster in
the long run.

Time spent 15 minutes by me for your solution. We like "attaboys"
hope this helps,

Don,
"Attaboy," I appreciate your help. The issue is with
Windows Explorer, not Internet Explorer. I'm here, because
I've already tried your suggestions, regarding the folder
options and the copying of folder views. The toolbars,
however, are not part of the folder view changes. Upon
clicking the final button which reconfigures the folders,
a message box pops up stating that the toolbars will not
be affected in this change.
I've looked through a number of help topics and have spent
more than a week trying to figure out the cause and
solution.
If anyone knows of any other way this can be corrected or
even why it's happening, please e-mail me directly.
Thanking you in advance.

Rick,
Seems it happened to me one time long ago.
I may tried to click just inside the active bar, or right moused there to
get a drop down to unlock the tool bars and then left mouse just up under it
at the lef end to grab a handle.
Seems like Dave Patrick may have run across it also.

and your welcome
but no joy :(
