My first movie is almost complete but......

I captured footage of our trip to Kennedy Space Center. I muted the sound
from the footage and inserted Elton John's Rocket Man from a cd. I used the
fade in/fade out for the music but it is only a 2 second transition. Can I
change the length of the fade in/fade out to something like 5 seconds?

Also, I have footage of my son saying "One small step for man,
one.........". Is there a way I could lower the volume of Rocket Man for a
few seconds so my son can be heard?

You can split the clipmaking 3 seconds or so in the middle of where you want
it faded out be a separate clip and mute that clip.

After finishing your movie (without putting the clip of your son in) import
it into WMM again.
Split it into 3 clips.
Clip #1 is before the spot where you want to lower the volume.
Clip #2 is the section you want lowered.
Clip #3 is everything after.
Now drag all 3 to the timeline and mute the middle clip.
Next you can drag the clip of your son's voice onto the audio timeline and
align it where you want over the audio of clip #2.
 
Thanks Wojo. Muting the music was the other option if simply decreasing the
volume wasn't possible. Does MM2 have many audio effects?
 
No unfortunately it doesn't
