It's been a while (read: a year or two) since I installed
Office 2000 Professional on my Windows 98 machine. I've
got two profiles on the computer: mine and my husbands.
When my husband logs in, Outlook is fine. But when I log
in as me, Outlook is missing the Edit menu. Instead of
File, Edit, View, Favorites, etc., there's just File,
View, Favorites, etc.

How can I get my Edit menu back?

Have you tried resetting the Menu Bar? View | Toolbars | Customize,
Toolbars tab, select Menu Bar in the list and click Reset.

In

Outlook 2003 does not display the contents of my Notes
folder when I click on the Notes "button" at the bottom
of the left window pane. The left window pane gets
updated but the right window pane still displays the
previous folder.

For example, I click on the Mail button. Next I click on
the Notes button. The left pane changes to list a choice
of views (which are mail-specific) but the middle pane
still shows my inbox and the right pane still the mail
preview.

If I click on Tasks then Notes, the left pane lists a
choice ov views (which are tasks-specific) but the right
pane still shows Tasks.

And so on.

It's as if Outlook doesn't know that the Notes button is
supposed to show Notes. Attempts to customize the view
are always specific to the previously displayed view
(i.e. Mail and Tasks in the above example) and performing
an Outlook "repair" doesn't fix the problem. It is not
possible to remove and recreate the button as with
previous Outlook versions that used a shortcut.

I am at a loss to fix this. The only way to get to my
notes is to click on Notes from the folder view.

Does anyone else have this problem? Any ideas for
solutions I haven't tried?

Thanks.
