I have 2 built in CD/DVD drives and an external DVD drive and for some
reason all of a sudden,
my computer won't recognize them. When I try to copy or move a file to them
(even though they
are listed on the left in Windows Explorer), they all 3 come up with a
message:

"Please insert a disk into Drive X/Y/Z".

Also, if I use my burning software (Clone DVD or any other), the program
will read the original disk,
but when it comes time to write it, I get the same "Please insert a disk
into drive X/Y/Z"

I think it's odd that it has happened all at once to all 3 drives. Any help
would be GREATLY appreciated.
Thank you in advance ... Michael

If the ROMs are using IDE ribbon cables, lift out & put back each end
of the ribbon plugs. This re-seats the cables. That failing, search
for drivers at links below.
Good luck.

How many external drives have you seen using an IDE connection to the
motherboard, Sandy?

You say that your computer does not recognize the drives, and you then
say that the drives show up on the left side of Explorer and that you
can read from them. Which is it?

Have you scanned for viruses/malware? Have you tried booting to Last
Known Good Configuration? Have you tried doing a system restore?
Have you tried reinstalling your burning software?
