So, I have a client with an existing office with 12 or so WinXP workstations
and one W2K Server. I have been hired to replace the oldest 5 PCs. These new
computers all join the domain. Before I was hired all the desktops belonged
to whatever workgroup the previous techs or staff had configured and none
were in the domain. All the new ones are completed and all is working well.
The rest will migrate this next week.

Question: I am redirecting the My Documents folder from the desktop to a
user share on the server. The desktop My Document is currently fairly
heavily used.

When I enforce the group policy change and the user next logs on will the
existing documents on the desktop move to the server at logoff or should I
copy all the data from the desktops to the server share before the policy is
in affect?

Thanks.

Read what the GP says for that - It should move them. Don't forget to
disable off-line files, it totally screws things up.
