Hi Gerry,
My folder hierarchy of the Folders pane when in C:\
I.e. Start | Run | Type: \ | Click OK.

My setting...
HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\CLSID\{450D8FBA-AD25-11D0-98A8-0800361B1103}
Value Name: SortOrderIndex
Data Type: REG_DWORD
Value Data: 48 hexadecimal (72 decimal)
By default Windows XP places the My Documents folder as the first icon on
the desktop.
TweakUI First Icon
This allows setting the first icon on the desktop to be either "My
Documents" or "My Computer". This is a per-system setting, available only if
the current user has permission to alter the "My Computer" settings. After
changing the setting, the user may need to select "Arrange By Name" from the
desktop context menu for the change to take effect. Some applications will
not respond to the new setting until you log off and back on.
Setting Name Type Data
HKCR\CLSID\{450D8FBA-AD25-11D0-98A8-0800361B1103}
My Documents SortOrderIndex REG_DWORD 0x48
My Computer SortOrderIndex REG_DWORD 0x54
{450D8FBA-AD25-11D0-98A8-0800361B1103} is the CLSID for the My Documents
folder.
Paste the following line into Start | Run, click OK and see what opens...
file:///::{450D8FBA-AD25-11D0-98A8-0800361B1103}
OE wants that line to be a link, ignore that.

Hope this helps. Let us know.

Thanks for coming back with the answer.
After I posted I did a little research of my own. On my own system I
found one for My Documents and the other for the Recycle Bin. None of
the others are mentioned?

My feeling is still that your No should be a Yes.
yes, you are right.
Do you know where the SortOrderIndex values are recorded in the
Registry? I presume that is where they are?
In the ClSID of the Shell object. For My Documents, it is here :
[HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\CLSID\{450d8fba-ad25-11d0-98a8-0800361b1103}]
(Right side)
Good Luck, Ayush.
