I have reinstalled XP Home and no longer have access
to "My Documents" folder. The solutions I have seen refer
to changine the simple share function which is not an
option for XP Home (only professional). Is there an easy
way to get around this. Thanks

Hi

How to access the Security tab:

For Microsoft Windows XP Home Edition, you must start the computer in
safe mode, and then log on with an account that has Administrative
rights to have access to the Security tab.

For Windows XP Professional, the instructions here can be
followed:

Same problem xp home I moved my documents to external HD. Due to C Drive
problem I had to rebuild OS. I cannot gain access to security tab to my
documents, to take ownership back in safe mode, as external HD (firewire) is
not loaded in safe mode. Any suggestions on how to resolve this problem?

Hi

Do it from a WinXP Pro computer where you don't need to be in
safe mode to take ownership.
