Yesterday my distribution lists were in outlook contacts and today they are
gone. Third time this has happened...any ideas? I hate to keep recreating
them.

You've provided no clues. Most of us do not use DL's because they are not
reliable. There are no confirmed reports of their simply disappearing for no
reason, however. You must have at least some clue.

I wish I did have a clue. (Office xp, by the way). Nothing extraordinary
happened in prior day shutdown or restart, no one else used the computer, no
error messages, no crashes, nada. Except for the disappearing act, I've had
no probs w/DL's. I tried detect and repair, but no help. I'm thinking virus?
Heard of any that deletes DL's periodically? If you do not use DL's, what do
you use?

I can't imagine a virus that would just randomly delete DL's. Most viruses
are trying to replicate DL's, not delete them. What information store, PST
or Exchange mailbox? How did you create the DL's and are they based on
Contacts in your Contacts Folder? Did you check your Deleted Items Folder?
Most of us use categories or separate Contact subfolders to group Contacts
more reliably.
