Ok. So upon a Sunday Times recommendation, I bought an Acer Travel Mate Laptop (4062 model). A£605 model. One and a half years into it's life and serious problems start occurring. The computer goes slow, mouse slow, applications run slow rendering the computer literally useless. Strangely enough, one in ten times when I turn it on it runs normally. Acers advisors recommend a system recovery but this has no effect. As my one year Warranty had expired, I find a local specialist. He tries various new hard disks etc, runs piles of tests and diagnoses a Mother board fault which is irrepairable.
Obviously, it is outrageous that a laptop would 'die' less that two years into it's life.
I am appealing for any advice you guys could give me about how to go about hadling Acer and making a good complaint.
Many thanks !
