i do not have access to all the animation options.. any ideas?

Assuming you're using PPT 2007, click the Animations tab, then click Custom
Animations to open the pane.

yeah.. that's the problem. I click the custom animations , and nothing
happens. the task pane is "missing" thanks anyway though.

Assuming you know your way around the PC you could try rebuilding the .pcb
file.

First make sure that you can see file extentions
Folder Options > View >untick Hide extensions for known files

PowerPoint CLOSED

Search for PPT12.pcb

Change it to PPT12.old

Open Powerpoint

Having the same problem here. POWERPOINT 2007. did a lot of custom animations. file saved, closed and when reopened - the animations work but the individual "custom" aspect is not showing. DONE ALL OF THE ABOVE.. Clicked custom animation and NOTHING shows up. no task bar, no special menu to select custom animation and the individual animations are gone. It happenedonce before and for unexplained reasons, they reappeared after closing andreopening... but now it does not work...
DOES ANYONE have an idea where the taskbar to do the animations is HIDING? why is Microsoft messing with me???

Close out of powerpoint 2007, restart the program, start a new presentation, click on custom animation - the task pane opened this time. Then open the powerpoint presentation you wanted to work on. The task pane should still be there.
