A call for help. My 'contacts' folder doesn't respond. (Says "Unable to
display folder") Also, folders are out of whack. My calendar is located at
the Contacts icon. Notes is located at the Tasks icon. Outlook Today is at
the Deleted Items icon.

If anyone can advise, would save me enormous frustration.

Thanks.

List the steps you used to create this fiasco.
It is not a known issue, and this should be a good story.
Don't forget to include your Outlook version and information store in your
tale.

Try starting Outlook once with the /resetfolders and /resetfoldernames
command line switches.

Thanks for your suggestion. And excuse my ignorance - but how do I go about
starting Outlook with the /resetfolders and /resetfoldernames command line
switches.

Can this be easily explained or is it a complicated procedure?

No steps. First time I've opened the program on my PC. (Been using Outlook at
the office for years.)
Outlook 2002
Let me know if you think of a possible solution.

You need to set up a mail profile before opening Outlook for the first time.
Control Panel>Mail.

Try a new mail profile first.

No steps? Not likely.
Post the steps you used to configure the new installation. Outlook doesn't
do that. You do.
