I'm using Outlook 2003. I can't select my contact email addresses from the
address search field. When I click on 'To' only the personal address folder
is shown which is empty. There is no Contacts folder to select. I've been
down the Tools / options route (as suggested in other help guidance) but this
has not made any difference. If I want to send a group email I have to go
into the contacts folders individually and copy and paste. Can anyone
suggest anything?

Is your Contacts Folder set as Outlook Addressbook? (Right-Click on your
Contacts folder, select Properties and click on the Outlook Addressbook tab)

No you don't - select all the contacts and do Actions-Create-New Message to
Contact.

Thanks for responding to my posting. When I right click on contacts and
select the properties / outlook address book tab the check box to select
contacts is greyed out.

OK - not an expert on 2003, but I /think/ you have to add the Outlook
Addressbook service to your profile.

Have a look here:

or if it's already present, reset the service by removing it, restarting
Outlook, and adding it back.

Gordon, thanks so much. You set me on the right path. Bit complicated to
explain, the route was circuitous and required lateral thinking but all
sorted and my life is so much easier!! Music Lizzie
