My contacts are not showing when I write an email

even if I go to contacts properties it wont give me the option to tick the
box??

Aloha Richard,

What version of Outlook are you using? If you go to Tools | E-mail Accounts
| View or Change e-mail address books do you see the Outlook Address Book
listed there? If not...add it.

xp 2002! I can see my contacts now but I still have to drop down to
contacts, how do I get this as a default?

Aloha Richard,

In 2002? Hmmm...have to work from memory here but try Tools | E-mail Accounts
| View or Change Directories | Outlook Address Book | Properties...there
should be a setting for "Show First" which lets you select which of the address
books it'll show first.
