Hi everybody! I am new here and i love this site. However, since I have been here AT this site, Quicktime keeps wanting to install and then tells me that (\\USMDLSDOWF003\Doww400\APPLEQUICKTIME\) is not available. Okay, when I cancel it (I already have quicktime) it only starts to install again when I navigate through this site to another page or if I refresh a page here at PCreview.co.uk. Is that strange or what? Is there a way I can disable that? And also, I have noticed that when I log in to my PayPal account all the .gif's and buttons are just those empty red X's. And it is happening on other pages as well. What is going on here? Please help. Thanks, ~Michael

Hmm... no problems here, perhaps Ian can help you.
i know what you mean as i sometimes get those x's on other sites, i dont know what causes them.
welcom to the site by the way!

It sounds like it could be another spyware problem or possibly virus related, I really can't think of anything else that could cause that... have you tried running antispyware/virus scans?

Well, I have an older version of norton, but these days, I really try to stay away from anti-virus and anti-spyware programs cause they tend to mess with my browser and sometimes I will get spammed from those very programs!! and get a bar just below my address bar that will pop up whenever there are java applets and scripts in any given webpage. sometimes they even make it hard for me to work on my OWN pages cause they will always ask me questions and are you sure and do you trust this etc... it drives me batty sometimes lol. Maybe in the past I have just used the wrong anti-virus or anti-spyware. Any suggestions on good and HONEST ones? Sometimes I don't know WHO or WHAT to trust!! I just want a computer without all these installed programs and thingees. Just a nice clean ol' browser with smooth sailin'. What I usually do in case of any "oddities' that arise is try to track it down myself by searching files on my hard drive and disable them or confuse them so they don't run at all. It works. But I can't for the life of me figure out why everytime I refresh a page here or surf around to other pages reading posts an' stuff, that quicktime thingee executes. hmmmmm... any programs you suggest that are not malicious or deceptive?
