My computer wont let me open my downloaded files?

Everytime i try to download a file off the internet that box comes up that
says the file name and stuff and then "save" or "open". when i press open it
starts to come up but its a blank page and then it stops. so i try saving it
and then opening it and the same thing happens. is there something blocking
it maybe that i have to set off? please help me! thank you!

Hi Sarah.

Did you try saving the object first, say, to your desktop, then try running
it to see if at least that option works? What is it you're trying to 'run'
from the internet directly instead of saving to disk, if you don't mind me
asking?
