when i turn the computer on it turns back off by itself what can I do to fix it?

probably a hardware fault. consult with the vendor from whom you
purchased it.

I had the same problem. It all started with a virus and went downhill from there...perhaps a corrupt system file. I reinstalled Windows XP and that seems to have fixed the problem
