After I restart my machine, I can do pretty much everything like usual. When
I double click on "My Computer" icon I get a white background folder and an
hourglass stuck in the loop going and going. I can see and list files in
other folders fine, but not "My Computer." Also, when I click on the drop
down list in any of the folders, the folder freezes and will not give me the
drop down list. I can not browse from inside any application either because
when the drive list is required it just hangs there. Strangely enough, a few
minutes later this behavior stops and I can double click "My Computer" just
fine, but the View always resets from what I had it set up at. Anyway, XP
Pro SP1 with all critical updates on 3.06Ghz P4 with 512MB DDR Ram, two
120GB drives. XP is a fresh install about a week old. Did the fresh install
just to fix the above situation to no avail. I think it might be the latest
updates or something. No System Restore. Hate that feature. Had this machine
for about 5-6 months with no troubles. Any ideas?
Thanks.
