My computer screen makes my photos way to dark to view without editing them first. T

I'm computer challanged and digital photography retarted so any help from anyone would have a positive impact (trust me). I'm having a problem viewing my photos after I load them on my computer. I've cranked up the brightness all it will go, and adjusted the contrast as well. After I edit the pictures the color becomes funky whats up with that? I don't know what to do now. Please someone help me.

Might need a graphics driver. Go to the manufacturer's web site and look around for
an updated driver.
