My computer reboots randomly.
This doesn't happen all the time...
It happens randomly.

I'm using the free virus software from Grisoft: AVG Virus checker.
I've run this several times...
And no virus is reported.

I've tried running the checker from Safe Mode... but it doesn't run.

Are there any other virus checking measures I can take?
Can I reboot and use a DOS disk or something?
(I'm using XP with NTFS file format.)

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks.

Use a better anti-virus. Nod32 or KAV would be two good choices.
However, the problem could be a result of a software conflict.

Almost certainly a hardware problem:
flakey ram
flakey power supply
overheating
overclocking
