My computer randomly restarts

With no warings whatsoever, my computer restarts.
Sometimes it doesn't come right back on. It'll shut off
for a few minutes and cannot be turned back on until it
turns itself back on. It is not a software problem. It is
also not overheating. The fan is working. There is no time
pattern. Anybody help?!

I a few years back on of the computers where I work was doing this, if I remember right they replaced the power supply and it fixed it. For some reason I remember it as being a short in the power supply that was causing the issue.

Why does my computer shut down in the middle of any operation and then restarts? (We can be in the middle of using the internet or something like wordperfect and the computer just comes up with a window that says "Computer will be shutting down in 60 seconds, etc., then counts down from there and shuts down, then restarts).

If you see a message box stating that it is shutting down
by a NT Authority and due to Remote Procedure Call, it
means that you've been invaded by the Blaster Worm. I
don't know what Operating System you have; suggest you
search the Microsoft Help and Support Website for their
instructions on what to do about it.
