my computer not being viewed correctly

when i open my computer i used to have all the hdd's and cd drives etc etc in
groups...

i.e. devices with removable storage, files stored on this computer
etc

i dont not have this now, i have selected "show icons in groups" but his
makes no change...
 
hi, have tried that but still does ot give the categories that used to be
there, it only arranges them like the desktop
