My Computer in History

I am running XP Pro in a Dell 8100. When I look at the History in IE6 I see
"My Computer" with all the files I have I have opened that day ... Word,
Excel, PowerPoint etc files. I might not want others to see what files I
have opened that day. Why are they shown there? Is there a way to block the
My Computer listings from the History file?
Thanks!

I have just asked for an answer for the same problem and saw this questionand
your answer --- was it always this way and I never noticed it or did
Microsoft do this in an update to IE 6 in the servie pack or an additional
update? Also, when I delete the My Computers on a list for a particular day
and then go back to that day to find a web page that was also on the list for
the day, ALL the listings for that dayare gone not just My Computer. This
seems to be a bug. I went nuts thinking I had spyware even though I use
AdAware and keep my ad Watch on maual so I don't allow any changes to
registry unless I have just allowed Windows XP or Office update AND I ran
Noton Anti-VIrus scans twice and have it set to autoupdate virus and other
updates. Could Frank Saunders tell us if this is "normal" and for everyone
who has IE6, IE6 shows My Computer and all your word, excel etc documents you
viewed that day -- I have a different computer, an IBM.

I posted the same "problem in a separate question and then saw this one. I
tried deleting in History for a particualr day My Computer and when I went
back to history for that day to finda web page I had looked at, ALL the items
for that day in History are gone. SO deleting My Computers is not the
solution --- Does everyone who has Windows XP and IE6 have their history
show My OComputers and the docs you viewed that day listed within it??? I
have an IBM unlike David.
