When I first downloaded vista it would enter sleep mode, but now, when I
click on "sleep", the screen will go blank, but the hard drive and fan are
still going. Anyone else have this problem?

Yes, me I have reported this to MS as my computer, when I manage to sort it
out, also has crashed 'blue screen crash' when using sleep, so I daren't use
it now.

If you have Daemon Tools 4.0.6 Installed, Uninstall it, it causes Major
Problem's with S3 Sleep Mode in build 5728, Just FYI.

Bug Report has already been Submitted, Just FYI.

Your "blue screen crash" when exiting from sleep mode sounds very familiar.
It happens here on one machine where I have RC1 Build 5728 x64 installed.

I have an "unknown device" in Device Manager which appears to be the ACPI
driver (I had to do a clean install because I was going from 32 to 64-bit so
all my previous drivers were lost). I'm reasonably sure the lack of that
driver is what's causing sleep mode to destroy my computer (and it really
does destroy it -- most of the time after the error occurred, my file system
was trashed and I either had to re-install from scratch or restore an image
backup).

So, I've just turned off sleep until MS or the motherboard manufacturer come
up with a Vista compatible driver.

It would be nice to get sleep going on this computer again. On my other
computer where it is working, I'm quite impressed with how Vista has
improved sleep mode.

Yes that is what I have done, I am not using the sleep mode until such time
as MS or whatever doesn't like the sleep mode is resolved. I sent a full
report in about it, so it should hopefully get sorted.

I should have mentioned in the previous post that my motherboard is ASUS
A8M2N-LA, which appears to be a motherboard that Asus only manufactures for
HP. There is no support for it on Asus's web site.

I've searched all over *&^% on the net for the missing ACPI driver with no
luck. And, HP itself is no help. While public pressure may eventually get
them to change their mind (it has in the past), at the moment they are
offering no Vista support and apparently won't do so until Vista is
released.

Hey Guys,
I moved my USB Keyboard and mouse to a USB HUB... got a new keyboard and
sleep started working :-)
Keeping my fingers crossed
